Hello World - Website

Websites are the backbone of the internet. From desktops to laptops to cell phones to even things like a PlayStation, many things have the ability to view web pages. Being able to build a website can launch you into the online world letting people from anywhere view your created page as easily as you can find a way to host it. Hosting is where a computer holds your webpage to give it to people who go looking for it.

Let's walk through making a simple website just to show you can get it up and running. We're even going to go a little further to make our Hello message fancy!

At its very simplest, a website is just a file that a server sends over to whoever wants to see it. A server is just a computer that sits around waiting to serve up files like a chef at a restaurant dozing off until it gets an order.

All that's left to do now is to choose the type of device you are wanting to code on, since it can be totally different based on what you're working with. Choose from the options below and let's get started.

Don't worry if your phone or operating system type isn't here! Maybe it'll be added here in the future, but in the mean time perhaps find another device to work on or just read along. 😁 I promise the concepts and exposure are more important than the site itself, but it's definitely really fun to show off to the people you know to say you made it.
